CEEM Semi-annual Review January 20 2010
The Center held its first semi-annual program review January 20, 2010.
All five partner institutions (UCSB, UCSC, NREL, LANL, and Harvard) were represented at the one-day event on the UCSB campus. John Bowers, CEEM Director, began the program by outlining the Center's mission, goals and reporting time-line. He emphasized the importance of collaborative research projects among the 24 participating members. Since this was the first time that all participants in the Center had come together, the review provided a special opportunity for participants to form new collaborations and strengthen existing ones. The program featured presentations in each of the task groups: plastic solar cells, high efficiency solar cells, thermoelectrics, and solid-state lighting. At the end of the day, a dinner was held at the UCSB faculty club, attended by the particpants, post-docs, graduate students, and UCSB administrators.
