UCSB Physics Undergraduate, Emilio Codecido, awarded an Undergraduate Student Poster Presentation Award at the SACNAS National Conference

Emilio Codecido, a senior majoring in Physics at UCSB and a current UCLEADES scholar doing research in Prof John Bowers group, was awarded an Undergraduate Student Poster Presentation Award at the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) National Conference in San Antonio,TX.

Emilio was awarded for an outstanding contribution and research presentation in the division of Physics for his poster titled "Enhancing Thermoelectric Efficiency with Gated Silicon Nanowires". Emilio began research in Prof Bower's group as a CEEM undergraduate research intern in 2011 working under the mentorship of graduate student Ben Curtin and is currently a senior scholar in the UCLEADS program finishing his undergraduate degree this year.
